Bihar is formally known as Magadha, Bihar is situated in the eastern most part of the north Indian. Bihar is surrounded by the Indian States of Uttar Pradesh to the west, Jharkhand to the south, West Bengal to the east, and has an international border with Nepal to the north.
Capital of Bihar state is Patna. In ancient times it is the main city in India, and known as Pataliputra. Then it becomes Pataligram, Pataliputra, Kusumpur, Pushpapura, Azimabad, and the present day Patna.
Agriculture is the biggest industry in the state today, but the government has recently embarked on a large industrialization and inward investment program.
