Sonepur is in Saran district. Sonepur situated on the union of the Ganga and Gandak.
Sonepur is famous for cattle Mela, this fair is Asia’s biggest fair of its type; is held in November (“Kartik Purnima”). The Mela is actually a trade event all types of working animals (goats, elephants, cattle, camels, horses and commodities) are all bought and sold. In this fair we can see various folk shows, games and jugglers.
