Vaishali

Vaisali is in Patna district. Believed to be the first republic in the world

Vishal - son of King Ikshvaku is considered to be the founder of the Vaishali kingdom. Vaishali, Vaishali or Vesali  is said to be named after King Vishal. The city had three walls, each one gavuta away from the other, and at three places in the walls were gates with watch towers.

Vaishali was a center of religious renaissance in ancient times, it was capital of the Mauryas and the Guptas,
